The Big Difference

Cynthia Rodríguez Juárez devotes her life to creativity in body, mind, and spirit. Born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico, she considers Leicester her adoptive hometown.

She’s been sharing her words on stage for nearly 10 years, and finds inspiration in nature, humanity, pop culture and the magic of everyday life through poetry, comedy, performance, and interdisciplinary practices such as music and visual arts.

Cynthia has been on stage with greats such as Lydia Towsey, Caroline Bird, Henry Normal, Jonah Matranga, Penny Rimbaud, Lauren John Joseph, and Jamie Thrasivoulou.

Her work has been featured in anthologies such as the Leicester Literary Review (2024, Ed. Tim Grayson, Fox Books), the Black Flamingo Zine (2017, Eds. Dean Atta and Ben Connors, Tate Britain) and “Poetry and Settled Status for All” (2022, Ed. Ambrose Musiyiwa, CivicLeicester).

Her debut poetry collection, “Meanwhile”, came out in October 2020 on Burning Eye Books. She’s currently working on a second collection.
